Fear not

Fear not

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round?
On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found. –Edward Bikerstheth Jr

My Lord and my God I want to exalt your Name because you are Great and Mighty in every way. I am nothing but You are Everything. You arise and your enemies are scattered. You are the God who brings victory. You are the God who brings peace. You are the God who brings healing. You are the God who brings righteousness. You are the God who brings rest to our souls. You are the God who puts everything together. Indeed You have the whole world in your Hands.

Lord there are days when we tremble and are confused and feel completely out of it. We are filled with doubts which gnaw us constantly and it so difficult to ignore them. In the midst of such situations may we be able to hear your voice of reassurance saying to us “Fear not”.Amen (4/30/17)

Lord of the Spring

Lord of the Spring

1 Yes, God is good: in earth and sky,

From ocean’s depths and spreading wood,

Ten thousand voices seem to cry,

God made us all, and God is good.

2 The sun that keeps his trackless way,

And downward pours his golden flood,

Night’s sparkling hosts, all seem to say,

In accents clear, that God is good.

3 The merry birds prolong the strain,

Their song with ev’ry spring renewed;

And balmy air, and falling rain,

Each softly whispers, God is good. – John Hampden Gurney

My Lord and my God I will praise You because you are Jehovah and you made the heavens and the earth. I will praise You because You are the God of creation and all you said was” let there be … and things were created. I will praise You because you continue to create good things in my life. I will praise You because nothing happens that you do not control or allow to happen. I will praise You because you deserve to be worshipped and adored. I will praise You because you inhabit the praises of your children.

Lord the majesty of your glory is seen in the Spring you have just ushered us into. All over it is raining and you have caused the brown shrubs to come to life in green. Flowers have started to bloom everywhere and it is so beautiful. Indeed this is your handiwork and it is awesome. As you have caused the ‘dead’ plants to spring into life may you bring renewal into our lives every day. May all that is dead and cause us harm and grief in our lives receive new life. May you bless us O Lord. Amen (4/23/17)

Risen, conquering Lord Jesus

Risen, conquering Lord Jesus

Because he lives

I can face tomorrow

Because he lives

All fear is gone

Because I know

He holds the future

And life is worth the living

Just because he lives –Church hymn

My Jesus, my Savior how should I speak of You? There is so much to say. O You are my Everything. You are the King of all kings. In You I live and move and have my being and You love me so very much dear One and I love You too. I want to praise You and I want to lift up your Name. O my Master. You are without equal and no one and nothing compares to You. You speak and the storms of this life calm down, everything is subject to You and obeys You. Let everything that have breath praise You  O Lord.

Lord today is Resurrection Sunday and I can hardly contain my excitement. Wohoo ! You are risen. You paid the price, you made the ultimate sacrifice, your life for my life to set not only myself but everyone who would trust in You free.  There is hope for us all O My Triumphant King. You have killed death and taken the sting of death away. Thank You, Thank You My Lord and My God. You have been glorified and You live to intercede for us all every day. Conquering King whose kingdom will never end, receive your praise, receive our worship. Thank You Jesus. Amen (4/16/17)

His entry in triumph

His entry in triumph

Hosanna, hosanna,

hosanna in the highest

Glory, glory,

glory to the King of kings

Lord we lift up your name

With a heart full of praise

Be exalted O Lord our God

Hosanna in the highest – Carl Tuttle

Lord I lift up your name. Be exalted O Lord. You are indeed the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. You will share your glory with no one. You are the Almighty and you have no end. You made us all and we want to glory in You our Maker. You are really worthy of all our praise. May You be glorified forever and ever.

Lord today we remember your triumphant entry into Jerusalem which started the events that led to your sacrifice on the cruel Roman cross for us all. Lord may you fill our lives with the rejoicing which occasioned your entry on that humble donkey into Jerusalem.

Lord even as we rejoice in your sacrifice, we are painfully reminded of evil that still abounds around us. We particularly remember our brothers and sisters in Tanta, Egypt who were bombed by ISIS during their celebration of Palm Sunday in their church. Lord protect your children all over the world and may your will be done for those who do such acts. Amen (4/9/17)

Remembering the foreigners

Remembering the foreigners

“You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. –Exodus 22:21

God of the American, God of the British, God of the Native American,God of the African, God of the Indian, God of the Ghanaian, God of every tribe, peoples and country. You are indeed Lord of the earth. You have no beginning and no end. You are the Immortal and Invisible God. I want to adore you. I want to praise You. I want to worship You. I cannot exist without You because you made me and you are my everything. May your great Name be exalted forever and ever O Lord.

Lord of late what we have taken for granted for so long in our country is now in question. There have been unprovoked attacks against innocent people who are not Americans but legally resident here. Lord we fear that this may continue and many of us who have foreign sounding names and look foreign could also be the target of attacks. Lord may our country not lose its soul and for us to forget that you want us all to remember and be kind to foreigners since we have been foreigners before in this land. May these attacks end. Please protect the foreigner in every land. Amen (4/1/17)
