May we grow in maturity

May we grow in maturity

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God

You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me – Mark Hayes/Tim Hughes

I will indeed praise my Maker while I have breath and even when my voice is lost in death praise shall still employ my nobler powers. Let all the earth praise your Name O Lord God. You are the Alpha and Omega and I will worship and adore You. King of kings and Lord of lords you are worthy to receive my worship. May you be glorified forever and ever.

Lord you have made it clear to us your children that you want us to grow into maturity. For some of us that growth to maturity has been a challenge because we are still gullible and will not delve deep into your word. We want to be fed all the time so that we do not become the prey of those who want to take advantage of us. Amen (9/27/17)

That we may sound the alarm

That we may sound the alarm

You were the Word at the beginning
One With God the Lord Most High
Your hidden glory in creation
Now revealed in You our Christ

What a beautiful Name it is
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King

What a beautiful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus –Ben Fielding, Brooke Ligertwood

Lord when I wake up in the morning I will praise you. When it is afternoon and the sun is shining hot I will exult your Name. When the evening arrives I will still be singing to you my worship song. May your Name be lifted up always and may it be blessed forever.

Lord as we feel the winds turn and tear apart things in their paths and the rains come down may we remember your Coming. May our hearts not be so drunk with the cares of this life that we be found wanting in preparing for you imminent coming. May you continue to remind us daily. Grip our hearts with anguish and give us courage and boldness and no peace that we may continue to sound the alarm by our words and actions. Amen (9/20/17)

Lest we fail to heed the signs

Lest we  fail to heed the signs

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain:

Are you washed in the blood,

In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?-Elisha Hoffman

Lord Jesus we come to you with open hearts. You are our Father and your love and care for us can never be questioned. Goodness and mercy flow from you to us all the time even when we do not deserve it at all by our attitudes to You. You are indeed the Almighty God and your power in nature is felt whenever the elements are unleashed. There is nothing left for us but to be in awe of You and who you are.

Lord I know you continue to warn us to be ready for your Coming. We look around us and all seems to be well despite the report that your coming is very soon.  It is akin to the situation many people who live in the areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey and Irma faced. They had been warned to flee the coming storm but they were still wondering if it would be that bad or more still if it would come at all or even affect them. Some lost their lives because they failed to heed the warning. Lord Jesus, pour your awareness and anguish on us that we may be aware of the coming ‘storm’ and prepare and act. May we not be found ‘asleep’ when it mattered most to be awake. Amen (9/12/17)

Lord prepare us

Lord prepare us

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary

Pure and holy, tried and true

With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living

Sanctuary for You

It is you, Lord

Who came to save

The heart and soul

Of every man

It is you Lord

Who knows my weakness

Who gives me strength

With thine own hand – Randy Lynn Scruggs & John Thompson

Lord we come to you with gladness in our hearts. Thank you for all You did for us yesterday. Thank you for what you are doing today. Thank you for what You will be doing tomorrow. Indeed You are a Great God and we can’t take you for granted. May gratefulness continue to overflow from my heart. May we always drench You with our praises and worship.

Lord we will live in a world where we have little value for preparation and we are in a hurry only to celebrate successes. Without adequate preparation we are going to fail. You have showed us time and again the need for preparation by how You prepared your various servants you used mightily over the years. Lord help us to see the value of preparation so we will have patience to wait on You and learn from your feet as You prepare and equip us to work in your vineyards. Amen (9/5/17)
