The hand that rocked the cradle

The hand that firmly disciplined

The hand that ably guided

The hand that nourished

The hand that provided comfort

The hand that gave counsel

The hand that partnered manhood

The hand that was always available

We celebrate this hand today and always

Lord of all creation and maker of Eve, the mother of all living. May your great name be lifted far above everything. Receive O Lord your praises and glory. You are so faithful and awesome. Thank you dear Lord and Master.

Lord, today is Mother’s day We want to thank you for all those who have at some time in our lives played mothering roles and have gone to heaven. We also want to thank you for those who continue to play such roles in our lives. Continue to keep and bless them in many ways. Amen (5/10/20)

May we be keepers of the story

Hark, the voice of Jesus crying,

“Who will go and work today?

Fields are white and harvests waiting;

Who will bear the sheaves away?”

Loud and long the Master calls us,

rich reward He offers free;

who will answer, gladly saying,

“Here am I, send me, send me”? –Daniel March

Immortal, Invisible Only Wise God. You are indeed the Omnipresent God and you are with us wherever we go. We lift your Great and holy Name. We are nothing without You. Receive our praise oh God.

Lord, we learnt this week in church to be the keepers of the story like the faithful disciples who walked with you on the Emmaus road did. Help us to be the encouragers of people and to also carry your Light to as many as we can seizing opportunities to do so in a time such as this. Amen.(4/24/20)

He is risen

Up from the grave he arose;

with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;

he arose a victor from the dark domain,

and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.

He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose! –Robert Lowry

Risen and Triumphant Conquering Lord and Savior we come to you today to worship and adore. You are indeed Lord of All and no one can be compared to You. Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, may your great Name be always glorified.

Today Lord, is Resurrection day, You rose and made a show of the principalities and powers, you conquered death and brought us deliverance. Lord we pray today as the coronavirus ravages our lands that you will have mercy and heal our people. Thank you for Easter. Amen.(4/12/20)

Palm Sunday 2020

Palm Sunday 2020

Ride on, ride on in majesty!

Hark! all the tribes hosanna cry;

O Savior meek, pursue your road

with palms and scattered garments strowed.

Ride on, ride on in majesty!

In lowly pomp ride on to die;

bow your meek head to mortal pain,

then take, O God, your pow’r and reign – Henry Hart Milman

His Majesty the King of Kings and the Lord of lords. Triumphant Ruler of hearts, Conquering Royal of our lives. You have no equal because you are the Alpha and Omega and the Almighty. Thank you for all you have done and is still doing for us.

Lord, today is Palm Sunday and we remember in our current situation your triumphant entry into Jerusalem as you prepared to make your ultimate sacrifice to change our lives forever. May your spirit of triumph resonate in our hearts as you give us more reasons to stick closer to you in a time like this. Amen (4/5/20)

Christmas blessings

Christmas blessings

“To you, in David’s town, this day

is born of David’s line

a Savior, who is Christ the Lord;

and this shall be the sign – Nahum Tate

Our Lord God, You have made the Heaven and Earth and everything in it including us humans. May everything we do bring nothing but glory to your Great Name. You have no equal and we want to remember that always. Thank you for Christmas.

Lord, today is Christmas Day, the day we use to remember the magnificent thing You did for us by sending your only Son, Jesus to be born into this world so as to identify with us and then to lay down His life for us in the end so that we might receive forgiveness from our sins and salvation for our souls as we trust Him as our Lord and Savior. Lord in this season may you give us the humility of a child, and may we also remember our frailty and vulnerability so we will rely on you at all times. Amen (12/25/19)

He answers prayer

He answers prayer

No height or depth can separate
Your steadfast love we can’t escape
Your faithfulness, an endless sea
So full of grace and mercy
We sing

God is so good
God is so good
God is so good
He’s so good to me – Pat Barrett

His Majesty, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. You are indeed the Creator God and everything is under your sway and behest. How do I start to praise You? How do I start to worship You? I am just speechless with wonder at your workings. I owe everything to You and I cannot repay. You truly make everything beautiful in its time because you are the Lord of Time. Thank you my dear Lord.

Lord Jesus you have done a wonderful thing for me a few days ago. After months of prayer you got me the job I needed. You are wonderful. Lord as I prepare to start on the morrow I ask that you anoint me with the wisdom (understanding mind) of Solomon, the intelligence and vision of Daniel, Shadrack , Meschack and Abdegnego, the resourcefulness of Joseph, the courage and boldness of Joshua, that I will be your worthy, successful ambassador in this new season of life. May you amply provide destiny helpers all over the school and every turn of my career. May I find nothing but favor wherever I turn. May my cup always run over with blessings. May I constantly remember to give you the glory. Amen. (10/6/19)

Father’s day 2019

Father’s day 2019

You’re a good good father

It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are

And I’m loved by you

It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am – Chris Tomlin

Lord who created men. Lord who created fathers, we praise and adore you. Indeed, You are our first Father and you really show us how fatherhood should look like. You really look out for us and you provide for us and also protect us. We will never be able to finish thanking you for all you continually do for us as our Great Father.

Lord, today is Father’s day dedicated to celebrate all those who perform fathering roles in the lives of people. We thank you for the lives of all these heroes and the many roles they play in different dimensions. Lord may you continue to guide, guard and bless fathers to be able to perform their duties well. May our societies be better places because of fathers. Amen. (6/16/19)

Remembering the fallen (our heroes)

Captain of Israel’s host, and Guide

Of all who seek the land above,

Beneath Thy shadow we abide,

The cloud of Thy protecting love;

Our strength, Thy grace, our rule, Thy Word;

Our end, the glory of the Lord. – Charles Wesley

Lord of all comfort. Lord who encourages, Lord who sustains, Lord who supports, Lord who protects, Lord who is everything we can ever imagine and also beyond what we will ever imagine. We come to you today in praise and adoration. We lift up our voices to express our deep gratitude to You O Lord.

Today Lord we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to our nation to keep us united, to keep us free, may their sacrifice not be in vain. As we remember them, may we lead lives that will ensure that on a daily basis what they did for us has been useful. We want to remember friends, family and loved ones they have left behind in various circumstances, may you be their help, their guide, their support, their peace on occasions such as this. Thank you Lord. Amen (5/27/19)

Mama

Mama

I remember Mama,
and the love that she gave
Kneeling by her bed side
I can still hear Mama say,

“The people are depending on you, Shirley,
don’t you let them down”

I remember Mama in a happy way – Shirley Caesar

Lord of all creation. Lord who created us all including mothers. We want to worship and praise You. We are grateful to You for giving us such wonderful mothers. We thank you that you put   so much resilience in them that they make so many sacrifices for us. Thank you God.

Lord thank you today that we can remember all mothers and those who have played all sorts of mothering roles in my life and that of countless others in our societies around the world. Lord thank you once again for the wonderful gift of motherhood. We will be forever grateful to you and them. Lord continue to bless all mothers and help those who have somehow not lived up to the expectations to do better. Amen (5/12/19)
