Affirming our gratitude

Affirming our gratitude

To thee, O Lord, our hearts we raise

in hymns of adoration,

to thee bring sacrifice of praise

with shouts of exultation:

bright robes of gold the fields adorn,

the hills with joy are ringing,

the valleys stand so thick with corn

that even they are singing.- W. Chatterton Dix

Lord when you hear our loud shouts, when you hear our uproarious praises, when you see us jump up and dance, when you see us prostrate on the floor , when you see us with that quiet smile all we are saying to You our Lord God is thank you. You have our backs so much even when we are slow to realize it you don’t give up on us. Who is more merciful than You? Who is more kind than You? Who is more gracious than You? It is only because that is who you are and we are left to ponder. Thank You Lord.

Lord as we contemplate Thanksgiving and all that ensues we want to say thank you to you once again. This is on top of what we do daily. We are grateful for the opportunity for all of us regardless of our origins to be able to come together as a nation and express our gratitude to You, our Creator and the Giver of all things what you have done for us throughout the year. May you continue to remind us to be grateful to You for each passing moment and day. Amen (11/22/17)
