Emmaus road

The Emmaus Road

Lo, two of the Lord’s disciples
Walked side by side,
And talked of the dear, dead Master,
The Crucified.
They spake with the passing stranger,
Who walked alone;
Nor heard in the words of comfort,
The Master’s tone.

Refrain

So, oft in the waning twilight,
One passeth by;
His voice rings out thro’ the darkness,
Lo, it is I.    –  Fannie I. Kennish

Resurrected Lord and Savior, Coming King. His majesty, the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. The Omnipotent and Conqueror of Death and Hades we come before you now to worship and adore. May our love and gratitude to You never never cease. May we never get tired of worshipping You, Dear, Loving Lord.

Today, Lord is Easter Monday, and we remember the experience of the sad, weary, fearful disciples who You joined up on the road to Emmaus. How you warmed their cold hearts on that journey and at the end opened their eyes to enable them to celebrate your victory. Whenever our hearts get cold with fear and doubt, warm our hearts O Lord. (4/1/24)

How will we ever finish worshipping you? We never can because you are goodness itself and your wonderful works in our lives never ceases. Glory be to You.

Lord as we remember today, Palm Sunday when you rode into Jerusalem in power but also in humility. Help us Lord to learn from you how to be humble in all our acts and at the same time to act in your power and prompting. Amen (4/14/19)

Thanks for the Cross

Thanks for the Cross

When I survey the wondrous cross

On which the Prince of glory died,

My richest gain I count but loss,

And pour contempt on all my pride.- Isaac Watts

Lord I lift your Name on high and I love to sing your praises because you have done great things for us. I realize that if I were the only sinner in the world you would have still died for me. You love me so much. I will be forever grateful. Thank you for everything.

Lord when I contemplate all the events of this Holy Week as we retrace your steps to the cruel Roman cross and your abundant love and sacrifice I can only say thank you my Lord and Savior. Amen.( 3/30/18)
